zhangbin bridge road used to have a real bridge. senior citizen zhang bin was alleged to dwell by the riverside and make his living by crafting straw sandals.

upon noticing the inconvenient cross - river traffic, zhang was determined to build a bridge with his savings. this is why it's been called zhangbin bridge.

its original site is at the intersection of zhongshan east road and caihong north road. due to the urban development, zhangbin bridge was dismantled, before being moved to tiangong farmstead in xiaying, yinzhou district. the bridge is now located by xijiang river in xijiang ancient village.

although zhangbin bridge has been relocated, people can still find the residential community and vegetable market named after the bridge as warm reminders. this vegetable market offers the locals a rich food supply and stands as a choice food landmark in ningbo. xiongxing roast goose is reputable across downtown jiangdong. aguo ngiu chap noodle is popular among diners. jinxia restaurant and king of double steamed bun were opened decades ago, and attract many customers.
