ningbo at a glance: xiangshan temple, a secluded historical temple by jiulong lake -和记娱乐平台在线

xiangshan temple is located on the border between zhenhai and cixi. it sits on the shores of jiulong lake, with dapeng mountain at its back. the temple was constructed 1,250 years ago. three emperors have bestowed imperial gifts upon the temple, a gathering place for monks and pilgrims alike. 

today's xiangshan temple was constructed in 2002. covering an area of 26,670m2, the temple was built in imitation of tang-dynasty architecture. the buildings are arranged neatly along the sloping mountainside. the main halls are joined by a stair path along their central axis. monks' quarters and the meditation hall flank the two sides, connected to the other buildings by covered walkways. 

majestic and imposing, surrounded by lush hills and dense woods, the temple's quiet atmosphere has attracted many city dwellers keen for a breath of fresh air.
